Joining the MX-5 Owners Club (SEQ) means becoming part of a friendly community of enthusiasts who share a passion for driving, social connection and the spirit of the Mazda MX-5.
Whether you enjoy relaxed scenic drives, social gatherings with fellow owners, or simply connecting with others who appreciate the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history, the club offers a welcoming environment for members of all ages and experience levels.

Membership Classes
Solo Member
Solo Members hold full membership privileges.
Entitlements
- One vote at General Meetings
- Eligible to hold office on the Management Committee
- Eligible to participate in all club runs and events
Eligibility
- Must be an adult and hold a current driver’s licence
- Must own a Mazda MX-5 registered for road use in Australia
Joint Member
Joint Membership is available to two people, where one is a spouse or close family member of the other.
Entitlements
- Each Joint Member holds one vote
- Each may hold office on the Management Committee
- Full participation in club runs and events
Eligibility
- Only one of the two members is required to own a registered MX-5
- Communication to one Joint Member is taken as communication to both
Solo Social Member / Joint Social Member
Social Membership is available to eligible members who no longer own an MX-5.
Entitlements
- Participation in all social events
- No voting rights
- Not eligible to hold committee positions
Eligibility
- Available to members with three or more years of continuous membership
- Not required to own an MX-5
- Participation in club runs permitted only in an MX-5 and in the company of a Solo or Joint Member
Trial Member*
Trial Membership provides an introduction to the Club.
Entitlements
- Participation in up to four club events
- Trial period of up to three months
Eligibility
- Participation in club runs must be in an MX-5 vehicle
- No voting rights
- Not eligible to hold committee positions
- Trial Membership automatically lapses after three months
* As a new club, trial memberships are limited, and you may be waitlisted for a trial membership opportunity to become available.
Membership Fees
Membership fees and joining fees are set by the Club at a General Meeting and are detailed in the Club By-Laws.
- Fees are payable within 30 days of joining or renewal
- Fees may be prorated for new members joining part-way through a membership year
- Membership fees are non-refundable
Membership Year
Financial Year: 1 July – 30 June may result in disciplinary action
Club Membership Year: 1 August – 31 July
